Taubenheim Gelbvieh, Amherst, Neb., held their 23rd annual production sale February 4, 2013 at the ranch. The Taubenheims welcomed a full house crowd and very friendly weather. Buyers appreciated the heavy muscled, functional cattle offered by the Taubenheims, and the NWSS pen bull champions had many friends on sale day.
TAU Fine Tuned 30Z, the 2013 People’s Choice Balancer® Futurity entry and NWSS pen bull, went home with Tegtmeier Gelbvieh of Davenport, Neb. He is a January 31, 2012 homozygous black son of TAU Tuned In 55T. After active bidding, he sold for $13,250.
TAU Resolution 65Z ET found a new home with Dave Burger and James Mathis of South Dakota at $10,000. 65Z was Taubenheims Breeder’s Choice Gelbvieh Bull Futurity entry. Born February 6, 2012, he is a homozygous black, purebred bull out of TAU 920J and RTRT Solution.
Todd Ibach, Sumner, Neb., was the top bidder on TAU Mr Total 170Z. A February 22, 2012 son of DMRS TC Total 048X, he was part of the NWSS pen bulls and sold for $8,000.
TAU 43T 26Z is a January 30, 2012 homozygous black son of TAU Mr Grid Topper 43T. Another NWSS pen bull, he found a new home with Ben Johnson, Mason City, Neb., at $7,500.
Top selling bred female was TAU Ms. Final Answer 129Y, selling to Matt Raile, St. Francis, Kan., at $2,800. Matt also took home TAU Ms. In Focus 1000Y for $2,500.
TAU 2039Z, a Western Hauler daughter, and 2053Z, a TAU Grid Topper 43T daughter were purchased by Calvin Dannehl, Bertrand, Neb., for $1,300 each.
Volume buyers were David and Roberta Bailey of S.D. Matt Raile and James Mathis of S.D., were volume buyers of bred females.
