Gelbvieh and Limousin Junior Associations Team Up to Host Leadership Conference
Junior Gelbvieh and Limousin members, ages 14-21, have the opportunity to participate in the POWER leadership conference. POWER stands for peers organizing winning effective results. The POWER conference is a four-day event focusing on increasing young leader’s knowledge of the beef industry, as well as building leadership skills.
The POWER conference will be held August 7-10 in Denver, Colo. Early registration deadline is June 1. This conference is the first of its kind for the Gelbvieh and Limousin junior associations.
“The junior Boards of Directors of both breed associations have been working together to provide our junior members with this great leadership opportunity,” says Carrie Tilghman, American Gelbvieh Association junior activities coordinator. “The four-day event is filled with many leadership and team building activities and workshops. In addition, attendees will visit ranches from both breeds, tour Rocky Mountain Sire Services, and spend some time on the campus of Colorado State University.”
The registration fee is $200 per attendee if received by June 1. Late registrations will be accepted until June 20 with a registration fee of $225. Registration information is available on both breed association websites, or by visiting www.www.gelbvieh.org/juniors/agjaevents.html.
