McKendree Hired to Serve as Office Operations Coordinator

LINCOLN, NE – The American Gelbvieh Association (AGA) is excited to announce the addition of Margo McKendree to the AGA team as office operations coordinator.

McKendree, a native of Lincoln, Nebraska, is a graduate of University of Nebraska at Kearney, and holds a Bachelor of Science in organizational and relational communications, a degree she plans to put to work for AGA.

“As I was reading the job description of the Association’s needs, I felt like my experience and education fit well – I felt like I really had the opportunity to help fill those needs,” she says. “I am already learning new things every day and that is exciting.”

In her office operations coordinator role, McKendree will organize and process accounts payable and accounts receivable, assist members and AGA stakeholders with the AGA online registry, and assist the executive director in administrative tasks.

When she isn’t helping the AGA office, McKendree enjoys traveling and exploring nearby states.

“Margo brings a wealth of experience in office administration, and she will be a complimentary fit to the skilled staff at the AGA,” says Megan Slater, AGA executive director. “We are excited to have her join the team as we move forward serving Gelbvieh and Balancer® stakeholders in today’s modern beef industry.”

A good crowd of repeat customers braved cold weather and sketchy road conditions for the 41st Annual Lazy TV Ranch sale March 5. The Lazy TV Ranch program focuses on customer satisfaction by utilizing 12 years of feed-efficiency testing, rigid culling for maternal traits and structure, along with performance and carcass data. Active internet and in-house bidding sold bulls into 10 states and several seedstock programs.

Taubenheim Gelbvieh, Amherst, Neb., held their 32nd annual production sale February 7th, 2022 at the ranch. The sunny February day brought out a great group of customers and the crew sold bulls to 11 different states.

TOP SELLING BULLS

Lot 33, TAU Trigger 17J, is a Homozygous Black and Homozygous Polled Son of SAV Resource 1441. He brings growth and power to the table along with an eye appealing package. He found a new home in Sumner, Nebraska to T & B Farms. He sold for $13,000.

Lot 82, TAU Land Grand 245J, is a Homozygous Black and Homozygous Polled Son of Deer Valley Growth Fund. He is a natural son of our donor cow 557. His growth EPD’s are at the top of the breed. When the gavel dropped he went Oberlin, Kansas with Holle Gelbvieh selling for $11,500.

Lot 105, TAU Mr Homestead 321J, is a Homozygous Black son of Ellingson Homestead 6030. He ranks in the top 1% for weaning weight and yearling weight. He will be roaming pastures in Pine Bluff, Wyoming for Kenny Everett, he sold for $9500.

Lot 17, TAU Mr. Bennett E158 282J, is a Homozygous Black Purebred who is packed full of red meat and fleshing ability. He will make be making the trip to Killdeer, North Dakota. Lisa Hoots purchased him for $8500.

Lot 149, TAU Ms. Infinity 0178H, is a TAU Infinity daughter out of a Payweight Dam. She was purchased by Sunset Ridge Farms, Richard Kranawetter of Patton, MO for $5500.

Lot 125, TAU Ms. Leverage 038H ET, is a CCRO Carolina Leverage 3214A daughter who makes her home with Ivers Gelbvieh in Austin, Minnesota and brought $4500.
