The American Gelbvieh Foundation

Mission:

“The American Gelbvieh Foundation (AGF) secures, grows and responsibly distributes assets for research, member education, and youth development to sustain and grow Gelbvieh genetics.”

In 1991 the American Gelbvieh Foundation (AGF) was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation as an instrument to receive tax-deductible donations. Today contributions help ensure the AGF can continue to provide necessary opportunities to the American Gelbvieh Association.

The AGF helps support three very important pillars of the American Gelbvieh Association. Those pillars are Member Education, Research and Development and Youth Development.

Member Education

The AGF play an important role in funding education for members of the AGA. Education of AGA members of all ages is critical for not only improvements of the Gelbvieh breed but also improvements in the beef industry as a whole.

Research and Development

The AGF is a vital part of sustaining the Gelbvieh breed well in the future. Continued research, supported by the AGF, will help to further develop scientific tools for the improvement of genetic accuracies and more reliable data sets. The Genomic Pioneers project, which led the way for Genomic-Enhanced EPDs within the Gelbvieh breed, as well as research and development of the $Cow Maternal Index are just a few examples of past projects funded by the AGF.

Youth Development

In addition to education and research, the AGF also helps to support Gelbvieh youth. Each year the AGF awards scholarships to members of the American Gelbvieh Junior Association. These scholarships as well as funding youth programs help to build the breed’s leaders of tomorrow.
