Gelbvieh Juniors Show “Under the Western Skies”

The American Gelbvieh Junior Association held their Western Regional show June 13-15, 2014. The show was held in Concordia, Kan., and was aptly named “Under the Western Skies.” A total of 41 junior members of Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma exhibited 74 Gelbvieh and Balancer® animals. Chris Mullinix from Manhattan, Kan., evaluated the 25 Gelbvieh females, three Gelbvieh bulls, 37 Balancer females, four Balancer bulls and five steers.
Jordan Gatz, Robinson, Kan., showed the grand champion Gelbvieh female. JRI Ms Butterscotch 176Z41 is an August 8, 2012 daughter of JRI Pop A Top 197T83, and first claimed the senior female division.
Jessie Lowe, Adrian, Mo., showed the reserve champion Gelbvieh female. Also from the senior female division, HIGH Ms Sweetheart 8Z60 is a September 23, 2012 heifer and was sired by TAU Mr Krugerrand 70M 130P.
The grand champion bred and owned Gelbvieh female was exhibited by Chase Tabor, Stillwater, Okla. TTTT Little Hottie is a March 27, 2013 heifer sired by TTTT Hott Papa ET.
Jake Lammers, Lexington, Neb., showed the reserve champion bred and owned Gelbvieh female. LAMJ Get Your Shine On 383A is a January 15, 2013 daughter of XXB Big N’ Rich 911P ET.
The grand champion bred and owned Gelbvieh bull was SYDB Simple Machine exhibited by Syndey Bigger, Media, Ill. He is an April 13, 2013 son of EBIG Ringo.
The reserve champion bred and owned Gelbvieh bull was exhibited by Makenzee Franklin, Helper, Kan. FFGV Mr Bearclaw is a March 12, 2013 son of JEMG Y532Y.
In the Balancer show, the grand champion Balancer female was shown by Seth Beying, Leavenworth, Kan. BDCG DC Darci 401A2 ET is a September 5, 2013 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682. She first claimed the senior heifer calf division.
Tanner Aherin, Phillipsburg, Kan., showed the reserve champion bred and owned Balancer female. AHL Limestone 372A is an April 5, 2013 daughter of SGRI Cowboy Crome, and was first named spring yearling heifer champion.
The grand champion bred and owned Balancer female was AHL Forever Lady 289Z, shown by J W LeDoux, Agenda, Kan. She is a December 31, 2012 daughter of GGGE 3G Smoke N’ Mirrors.
The reserve champion bred and owned Balancer female was shown by Chase Tabor, Stillwater, Okla. TTTT Hott Lips is a September 10, 2013 heifer sired by TTTT Hott Papa ET.
Kyle Bauer, Fairbury, Neb., had the grand champion bred and owned Balancer bull with KOBG Top Gun 140A. This May 3, 2013 son was sired by DJS 261Y.
Jacob Barwick, Orleans, Neb., exhibited the reserve champion bred and owned Balancer bull. BARG Sampson 57B is a March 13, 2014 son of LAMJ X-Factor 673X ET.
In the steer show, grand champion went to Samantha Tucker, Portis, Kan. Tanner Taubenheim, Amherst, Neb., had the reserve champion steer.
