The Fall Bluegrass Gelbvieh Invitational was held September 29, 2018, in beautiful Mount Sterling, Kentucky. This was the 27th edition featuring the Bar None Ranch dispersal and the Gentle G Farm spring herd dispersal. The Bar None program has spanned three decades and has enjoyed much success.

Topping the sale was Lot 2, Ms Fortune 63X ET, at $9,500 for 50 percent embryo interest. This homozygous black, homozygous polled proven donor is due to Godfather 575C for a fall calf. This elite female will be the principle in the ET program for Donald Owen.

Lot 4, Bar None Ms Astro 807A ET, is a red, homozygous polled Astro daughter out of the famed EGL P016 donor. Donald Owen was the winning bidder at $8,000 for this future donor.

Lot 5, Ms Captain 110A ET, sold for $6,000 to Wes Overholt. She is a homozygous black, homozygous polled Captain 42X daughter that sold bred to Godfather 575C.

The high selling bred heifer was Lot 12.  MMGG 16E ET is a bred, black, homozygous polled Leverage heifer out of EGL P016. She sold to Shelton Pollett for $6,250.

Lot 16/16A found a new home with C & D Farms at $4,750. This homozygous black, three in one pair was a favorite of many. The cow was sired by Watchman and bred to Leverage.

The Junior Gelbvieh and Balancer® Heifer Show at the American Royal was held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, in Kansas City, Missouri. Judge Randy Daniel, Colbert, Georgia, evaluated the Gelbvieh and Balancer heifers.

Grand champion heifer was CBLG Six E Firefly 700E, owned by Abigail Schrader, Columbia City, Indiana. This heifer is the daughter of PZCT PZC Tmas Firestorm 1800 ET and first claimed the Gelbvieh and Balancer junior yearling heifer division.

The reserve grand champion heifer is owned by Sarah Carroll of Raymore, Missouri. JNCC Miss Dimension 802F is the daughter of JNCC BROK Final Dimension 601D and first claimed the Gelbvieh and Balancer junior heifer calf division.

The Gelbvieh and Balancer® Show at the 2018 American Royal took place on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the American Royal Complex in Kansas City, Missouri. Jerry Grund, Wallace, Kansas, evaluated the Gelbvieh and Balancer cattle.
The grand champion Gelbvieh female was HIGH Ms Emma 9E100 ET. She is the daughter of JRI Pop A Top 197T83. Owned by Jacie Carroll, Raymore, Missouri, this heifer first claimed the senior heifer calf division.
Coming out of the junior yearling heifer division is the reserve grand champion Gelbvieh female. DCSF Pettit’s Laura 42E2 is the daughter of DCSF Post Rock Power Built 37B8 and owned by Blair Vohs, Bucyrus, Kan.
The grand champion Gelbvieh bull was owned by Emily Griffiths, Kendallville, Indiana. GGGE 3G Fort Apache 835F is the son of GGGE 3G Zip Line 266Z and first claimed the junior bull division.
The reserve grand champion Gelbvieh bull was IFG Ivers Hannibal F14, owned by Colton Ivers, Austin, Minnesota. First claiming reserve in the junior bull division, Ivers Hannibal is the son of JRI General Patton 213B97 ET.
In the Balancer show, grand champion Balancer female was owned by Brylee Thiel, Kaw City, Oklahoma. MDR Elly Zendt 702E ET is the daughter of Dameron First Class 896 and first won the junior yearling heifer division.
