The Fall Bluegrass Gelbvieh Invitational was held September 29, 2018, in beautiful Mount Sterling, Kentucky. This was the 27th edition featuring the Bar None Ranch dispersal and the Gentle G Farm spring herd dispersal. The Bar None program has spanned three decades and has enjoyed much success.
Topping the sale was Lot 2, Ms Fortune 63X ET, at $9,500 for 50 percent embryo interest. This homozygous black, homozygous polled proven donor is due to Godfather 575C for a fall calf. This elite female will be the principle in the ET program for Donald Owen.
Lot 4, Bar None Ms Astro 807A ET, is a red, homozygous polled Astro daughter out of the famed EGL P016 donor. Donald Owen was the winning bidder at $8,000 for this future donor.
Lot 5, Ms Captain 110A ET, sold for $6,000 to Wes Overholt. She is a homozygous black, homozygous polled Captain 42X daughter that sold bred to Godfather 575C.
The high selling bred heifer was Lot 12. MMGG 16E ET is a bred, black, homozygous polled Leverage heifer out of EGL P016. She sold to Shelton Pollett for $6,250.
Lot 16/16A found a new home with C & D Farms at $4,750. This homozygous black, three in one pair was a favorite of many. The cow was sired by Watchman and bred to Leverage.
