Carlson Hired as Gelbvieh Association Summer Intern
The American Gelbvieh Association (AGA) announces the hiring of Drew Carlson, Atwood, Colorado, as association intern. Carlson will be assisting in all aspects of the AGA operations including facilitating member programs and services, bull customer assistance, and marketing.
Carlson’s interest include communicating the critical importance of a strong agricultural economy to youth, as well as working closely with producers in the cattle industry and striving to narrow the disconnect between production agriculture and the consumer. The AGA has a strong history of sourcing talent that contributes to the AGA in a positive way and we are pleased that Drew has accepted the 2017 internship.
Carlson grew up on her family’s farm and ranch in Atwood where she participated in 4-H and exhibited cattle, hogs, and goats at the local and state level. Through 4-H she found a simple love for agriculture and a passion for showing livestock.
Carlson graduated from Colorado State University (CSU) in May 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in animal science and a minor in agricultural business. While at CSU, she was a member of the CSU Seedstock Merchandising team, Block and Bridle, and the Collegiate Livestock Association clubs.
“As an intern for the Gelbvieh Association, I am looking forward to networking and making connections with producers,” says Carlson. “I am excited about the opportunity to build on my background knowledge and promote and gain experience within the Gelbvieh and Balancer® breed and association.”
Carlson will begin her internship with the AGA in late May and will work out of the AGA headquarters office in Broomfield, Colorado, throughout the summer months.
