This year marked the 31^st Annual North Dakota Gelbvieh Association’s Golden Rule Sale held in Mandan, North Dakota. The sale comprised of 48 total lots from 18 Gelbvieh and Balancer^® breeders.

The top selling bull was Lot 33, WOHL VIGGO B14, consigned by Wohl Farms, Baldwin, North Dakota. He’s the March 7, 2014 born, black, homozygous polled 75 percent Balancer son of JKGF IMPACT Y353. Schroeder Ranch of Souix Falls, South Dakota purchased the bull for $10,000.

Wohl Farms of Baldwin, North Dakota also had the second highest selling bull in Lot 35, WOHL JW Strongbox B627. He is the homozygous black, homozygous polled son of WOHL JW Z48. Steve Goetz from Zap, North Dakota had the final bid of $9,750.

 Lot 41, DCHD Golden Buckle Gelv Babe Magnet 200B ET, held the next top spot in the sale with a final bid of $9,500.  The 94 percent, heterozygous black, homozygous polled Gelbvieh bull that was born on March 17, 2014 was consigned by Golden Buckle Gelbvieh, Medina, North Dakota and purchased by Chimney Butte Ranch, Mandan, North Dakota.

Lot 8, DDGR Sofia 25A, brought home the recognition of being the top selling bred heifer. She was consigned by Diamond D Gelbvieh of Mandan, North Dakota. DDGR SOFIA 25A was born on March 5, 2013 and is the homozygous black, 94 percent Gelbvieh daughter of VRT Lazy TV Sam U451. She is due to calve April 10, 2015. Micheal Rea of Berthoud, Colorado bought this female for $6,250

The highest selling open heifer was consigned by Lost River Livestock. Lot 19, LRSF Rochelle B86 is the 75 percent Gelbvieh, homozygous black, heterozygous polled daughter of EGL TUCSON Y014 ET born on March 13, 2014. Gustin Diamond D Gelbvieh, Mandan, North Dakota purchased her for $5,750.
