The Genetic Power Gelbvieh and Balancer® bull sale was held the second Saturday in March. The sale featured 95 bulls raised by J Bar M Gelbvieh, Stark City, Mo.; J & K Farms, Ava, Ill.; and Hilltop Farms, Asbury, Mo.
The top selling bull of the day was Lot 69, JEMG Impact A691, who sold for $20,000. He is a January 19, 2013, double black, homozygous polled, 75 percent bull, sired by HYEK Black Impact 3960N and out of CMGF Clinchmt Ms Legacy 1042X. After active bidding, J Bar M Gelbvieh and Hilltop Farms teamed up to purchase this exciting young sire.
Lot 1, JKGF LWHF Super Flex Z353, was the second high-selling bull at $13,000 to Prairie Hills Gelbvieh of Gladstone, N.D. This September 9, 2012, homozygous black and homozygous polled, purebred Gelbvieh bull was sired by JKGF Reflex X4 ET and out of LWHF JKGF Twila 353W ET.
Lot 33, JKGF Future Invstmnt A121ET, sold for $10,750 to Gustin’s Diamond D Ranch in Mandan, N.D. He is a February 3, 2013, homozygous black, homozygous polled, purebred Gelbvieh son of JKGF Future Investment X037 and out of a CTR Highlight 066K dam.
