Lincoln, Nebraska – The 2021 American Royal Open Gelbvieh and Balancer® show was held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 in Kansas City, Missouri. Exhibitors had the pleasure of welcoming judge Chris Sankey of Council Grove, Kansas, to evaluate and sort through 22 Gelbvieh females, 12 Gelbvieh bulls, 26 Balancer females and seven Balancer bulls.
Grand champion Gelbvieh female was GHGF Lady Cassandra 052H owned by Karley Rumfelt of Phillipsburg, Missouri. This heifer was born October 10, 2020, and sired by GHGF Cow Town D536. She first earned the title of champion senior heifer calf.
Reserve grand champion Gelbvieh female was JRI Ms Onederful 254E322 owned by Webb Cattle Company of Quenemo, Kansas. Born, March 7, 2021, this cow was sired by JRI Optimizer 148A24 and first earned the title of champion cow-calf pair.
Grand champion Gelbvieh bull was JNCC Sundance Kid 0242H ET owned by Nowack Cattle Company of Owensville, Missouri. Born April 14, 2020, this bull is sired by JNCC Red Directive 367A and first earned the title of champion junior bull.

Grand champion junior breeding heifer was CBRO Journey 2076H owned by Cody Brown of Dwight, Kansas. This heifer was born April 4, 2020 and was sired by XXB Primo 541E ET first claiming the title of champion junior yearling heifer.
