The Junior Gelbvieh and Balancer® Heifer Show at the National Western Stock Show was held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, in Denver, Colorado. Judge Brad Bennett, Cooksville, Tennessee, evaluated the 11 Gelbvieh heifers and 39 Balancer heifers.
Grand champion Gelbvieh heifer was HIGH MS Emma 9E100 ET owned by Jacie Carroll, Raymore, Missouri. This heifer is the September 13, 2017 daughter of JRI Pop A Top 197T83 and first claimed the senior heifer calf division.
JRI Ms Queen Of Hearts 148E4, owned by Lily Judd, Pomona, Kansas, won reserve grand champion Gelbvieh heifer. This heifer was sired by JRI Pop A Top 197T83 and was born February 4, 2017. She first won the junior yearling heifer division.
Grand champion Balancer heifer was CBLG Six E Firefly 700E owned by Abigail Schrader, Columbia City, Indiana. First claiming the junior yearling heifer division, this heifer is sired by PZCT PZC TMAS Firestorm 1800 ET and was born April 15, 2017.
EGL Lass E3200, owned by JW LeDoux, Ree Heights, South Dakota, won reserve grand champion Balancer heifer. She is the February 15, 2017 daughter of EGL Lifeline B101 and was the reserve champion in the junior yearling heifer division.

Ring of Gold Champions
Throughout the 2018-2019 show year, Gelbvieh and Balancer® females and bulls competed at shows across the country to earn points for the American Gelbvieh Association Ring of Gold program.
Each year the qualifying animals are ranked at the conclusion of the National Gelbvieh and Balancer show at the National Western Stock Show. This year a total of six shows were included in the Ring of Gold tally.
The American Gelbvieh Association established the Ring of Gold program to honor the top animals shown at the conclusion of the show year. Points are earned for grand and reserve grand champions, as well as division champions and reserves, and are based on the actual number of animals shown at each show.
To honor those animals who have risen to the top during the show season, The Ring of Gold awards are presented to the top Gelbvieh female, Gelbvieh bull, Balancer female and Balancer bull based on points awarded throughout the year. Animals must earn points in at least two shows to qualify for Ring of Gold points each year. The 2018-2019 Ring of Gold qualified shows were: Iowa State Fair, Kentucky State Fair, Missouri State Fair, American Royal, North American International Livestock Exposition, and the National Western Stock Show.
The following is a list of the top three animals in each Ring of Gold division. In order to qualify for recognition, animals must have earned points in at least two Ring of Gold shows throughout the calendar year.

Champions Parade at North American International Livestock Exposition Gelbvieh and Balancer® Show
The NAILE Gelbvieh and Balancer® show took place at the 2018 North American International Livestock Exposition on Thursday, November 15. Randy Daniel, Colbert, Georgia evaluated the Gelbvieh and Balancer cattle.
The grand champion Gelbvieh female was GGGE 3G Frankly My Dear 8100F, owned by Emily Griffiths, Kendallville, Indiana. This daughter of GGGE 3G Zip Line 266Z born on April 15, 2018, first claimed the spring heifer calf division.
SKYC BCFG-SKYS Eleanor 282E was named reserve grand champion Gelbvieh female and is owned by Casey Martin, Oregon, Illinois. This heifer was first named champion junior heifer and is the January 23, 2017, daughter of JRI Pistol Pete 214A44.
Grand champion Gelbvieh bull went to GHGF Quick Draw 31E1 ET, owned by Green Hills Gelbvieh, Mount Ulla, North Carolina. The March 3, 2017, son of GHGF Young Gun C310 first claimed the junior bull division.
Cody Moore, Fountain Run, Kentucky, owned the reserve grand champion Gelbvieh bull. HILC All Star 500D is the September 22, 2016, son of FMGF Blue’s Impact 001X and came out of the senior bull division.
Grand champion Balancer female was GHGF Delilah 655D, owned by Austin Teeter, Mount Ulla, North Carolina. Sired by Gambles Hot Rod 9620, this heifer was born November 14, 2016, and first claimed the senior heifer division.
RAAB BCFG Ms. Evangeline 413E ET was named reserve grand champion Balancer female. Owned by Aidan Raab, Markle, Indiana, this heifer came out of the junior heifer division. She is the April 13, 2017, daughter of SAV Brilliance 8077.
Emily Griffiths, Kendallville, Indiana, owned the grand champion Balancer bull for the second year in a row. GGGE 3G Frontier Justice 829F is the January 17, 2018, son of GGGE 3G Agustus 317A. He first came out of junior bull calf division.
The reserve grand champion Balancer bull was owned by Casey Martin, Oregon, Illinois. SKYC SKYS Encore 7086E is the March 19, 2017, son of SKYM Foreman 2002Z first claimed the junior bull division.
