A beautiful September day was the backdrop for a very solid sale for the breeders of Seedstock Plus and the customers that participated. All the females sold at a brisk pace with the sale averages up significantly over last year. Cattle sold to 39 buyers in 11 states. Prior to the sale start a complimentary beef brisket meal, catered by the Rib Crib restaurant was enjoyed by all in attendance.
Sale highlights include:
Lot 1: Pick of pregnant recips from Bachman Cattle Farms sold to John Carrel, Mont., for $3,000. John picked the HFGC Vickie Vail 173Y34 X JDPD Astro 407S heifer mating.
Lot 2: Pick of the entire Bar T Bar calf crop sold for $7,700 to Mulroy Farms, Kan. Having purchased the BTBR Nevada 1170Y bull in a past sale Mulroy Farms knew the opportunity presented in this offering.
Lot 3: Pick of bred heifers from Sandy Knoll Farms sold to CJSD Gelbvieh, Ohio for $3,500. The Diehl family has purchased this pick before and the results warranted to go again.
Lot 4A was the BC Matrix X Cocoa Sue ET open spring heifer with the option to purchase the additional 11 full ET sisters. This female sold for $2,300 to Two Step Ranch, Iowa with Pat McCabe taking all of the full sisters.
Lot 43: This top selling fall pair was consigned by Pederson Gelbvieh and sold for $3,250 to KG Gelbvieh, Texas. Guy and Kristen Lambert of KG Gelbvieh purchased a total of four fall pairs.
Lot 92: The top selling open heifer come from Stuecken Bros. and sold for $5,600 to Bachman Cattle Farms. This red purebred Gelbvieh has excellent EPDs across the board and is also a 10 on tenderness on her Igenity profile.
