IGS Breeds to Host Youth Leadership Conference
The American Junior Simmental, Shorthorn and Gelbvieh Associations will host a joint leadership conference August 3-6, 2017, in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Summit is an all-new youth leadership conference.
This Summit is open to any youth ages 14-22 interested in expanding their knowledge about the beef industry. Registration closes July 1, 2017 and can be found by visiting the hosting breeds websites or Facebook pages.
Participants will get the chance to tour the United States Meat Animal Research Center and GeneSeek Laboratories as well as learn about different aspects of the beef industry. They will also learn about professional development and leadership skills. The participants will also visit the University of Nebraska-Lincoln meats lab and have the chance to see a college campus that may help with their future.
This conference will help grow the unprecedented collaboration between progressive breed associations to enhance beef industry profitability through a youth leadership conference. The youth of this industry are the future of agriculture.
